iPhone XS Max Overheating on Facetime

My iPhone XS Max constantly overheats every time I use Facetime audio or video.

I don't tend to have it charging whilst on FT, as heard this is bad. No other apps are open either.

It gets to the point where the other person's voice sounds like a robot and everything is slow to response, so takes me a while to exit from Facetime.

Anyone have any solutions?

Hi there emmak_123,

If your iPhone is getting warmer than expected, let's first follow the recommendations in the 'If your device gets too warm' to try to isolate and alleviate what's happening.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch gets too hot or too cold

Also, updating the iOS of your iPhone installs bug fixes and can resolve unexpected issues like this. This walks you through the steps: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If this continues after updating and following the recommendations, let us know if you are also getting temperature warning screens on your device.

Cheers!
