*Invert* color channels - in Photo?

Seems like such an obvious need - 'invert' color or black / images. I've been importing thousands of scanned negatives that i have to output / edit in photoshop, invert, then round-trip back.

PLEASE ADD INVERT COLORS so black and white negatives turn positive! :)

You can use GraphicConverter to invert the negatives into positives. It has a trail version that you can try before purchasing. I can be used from within Photos so there's no exporting, editing and importing needed. The feature is under the Picture ➙ Color ➙ Invert menu option.

You can invert the Black and white negatives with the "Curves" adjustment for the "RGB" curve. Just drag the black value to white and the white value to black, like this:

For colour images you need to adjust all three colour curves, for red, green, blue.

When I am scanning negative film, I am using the colour handling of the scanning software to adjust the colours. That will usually give the better results, because software like VueScan has predefined colour tables for many commonly used negative films.
