How do I get photos that I've imported from an SLR camera into my Library? They are in Imports, but not in Library. I've tried dragging them in, but that doesn't work, and there's no option to copy and paste. The "Add to" function only allows me to add to an Album or a Project.

When you are seeing the photos already in Imports, they are in the library, but they may be sorted under a different date than you are expecting.
You may want to try the following:
Does this reveal the photos in the library? If not, you may need to wait a bit, until the syncing with iCloud has been finished. Sometimes Photos needs a bit longer to update the "Library" section after a recent import.

To correct the date, select the photos with the wrong date in "Imports, then use the command "Image > Adjust Date & Time". There you can enter a corrected date. All photos you select together will get a time shift by the same offset.
Perhaps the date in your camera has been reverted. to an old date, if the battery was empty.

Your advice has been hugely helpful. I cannot thank you enough. You are absolutely right - for some reason, the photos are in the library in 2012!!
