Unable to type the system PIN code

I recently purchased a MacBook Air from my company as I was leaving the job. I have the system pin code that was provided by IT. However, I am unable to type the system pin code as the device is locked. Is there anything I can do or ask IT to do to unlock the system code?

You need to get your former company to unlock it.
