New Apple Watch series 8 stuck on charging snake

I can not start my new Apple Watch Series 8 (out of the box). It’s stuck on the charging snake. It has been charging for over and hour and it is still stuck. How do I fix it?

Leave it another hour then hold in side button and crown together until the Apple logo appears then release.
