Outdoor cycle distance not counting towards distance gone daily

I have a question about outdoor cycling. My Apple Watch records everything about my ride; distance, calories time ect. I am wondering why the distance I ride doesn’t count toward my “daily distance”. The time and calories count toward daily time/calories, but not the mileage. This doesn’t happen with an outdoor walk jusy cycle. Any advice?

I don't work for Apple, but I suspect that the distance only applies to your feet "on the ground" i.e., walking, running, etc. which is used in your pace measurement. Again, I suspect it is setup that way because you can go quite a distance by coasting.
