Click on the Trash icon in the dock and then click the "Empty" button near the top right of the Trash window in Finder.

f-vault - can't delete trash Does anyone use F-vault on their Mac? It's a third party app that has its own trash. When I delete a file it goes to the trash on f-vault and stays there. I have tried everything to delete it from trash and I can't meanwhile my laptop is almost full because I cannot empty the trash on f-vault. thanks

FWIW, you can also right or control click on the Trash icon and choose "Empty Trash', or while in the Finder, choose "Empty Trash" from the Finder menu or press "command shift delete" to avoid opening the Trash window.
