I can't delete free space partition and assign it to my main disk partition.

Hi guys,

I had windows on my Mac with bootcamp and with EFI partition. I deleted it and can see the free space, but when I try to expand my main partition, I get an error.

Furthermore, I attached the error, log and APFS list.

Can you help me please?

Thanks!

Those logs clearly show there are file system issues which have not been repaired. Try running First Aid while booted into Recovery Mode or Internet Recovery Mode to see if First Aid can repair the corrupted file system. If First Aid is unable to the errors, then you will need to start completely over by erasing the entire drive before reinstalling macOS & restoring from a backup. You may still need to do this even if First Aid is able to repair the file system since you really needed BootCamp Assistant to restore the Windows partition to the main macOS partition/Container. Usually trying to use Disk Utility to merge the old Windows partition will result in failure.

I had the same problem and found this workaround on a forum. I used bootcamp to re-install windows 10 on the old windows partition (easy to download an ISO from Microsoft site and you will also need a USB drive of at least 16GB). I just indicated the same size of the existing partition when asked. It's not necessary to have a windows license as you are going to delete it just after the installation but it is VERY IMPORTANT to use bootcamp to delete the newly created partition (just click on the option to delete). I can now make full use of my entire fusion disk on my Imac. It takes a while to re-install windows but it's worth it and it worked like a charm.

I can't delete free space partition and assign it to my main disk partition.
