How can I download imovie 10.2.5 big sur11.7.8

I am setting up an older MacBook Air (1.7 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7) for a missionary.

I erased it and created an Apple ID for the user to be. It is now on Big Sur 11.7.8.

I finally got an account on the App Store, but when I try to download iMovie it says I need a later Mac OS - 12.6.

This MacBook Air cannot support OS 12.6 - software update says it is up to date 11.7.8.

It appears I need iMovie 10.2.5 or 10.2.3, but I cannot find it on the App Store.

I cannot "recover"it because it has not been downloaded to this freshly erased MacBook Air.

I am stuck - help?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.7

Hi, susanrena,

Try this procedure:

To

update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the trash. (You can skip that step if you had iMovie 10 on your computer before, but deleted it.) Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar.   You will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update iMovie from there. If not successful, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash (if you moved it there) and return it to the Applications folder.

I would try the above with the new I.D. that you set up. If no luck, you might need to try the old I.D. that you originally used.
