closing a podcast

When an episode is finished (or a complete podcast is finished), the episode continues to show up on the bottom of the apple podcast. It makes navigating a little challenging (not insurmountable). Is there a way to clear the screen of an episode...I've tried swiping left and right, hitting the elipsis to see if there is a close.....can't find anything. I feel like I must be missing something easy. See the bottom of the image I inserted....how do I get rid of the Scamanda episode 8 (as an example).
