Line level input to iPhone 14 Pro

I'm looking to find the correct cable/combination to get a line level input (from either the headphone jack out of an iMac or Audio Interface or line out from a mixing board) to my iPhone 14 Pro to record when taking video instead of the normal iPhone built in Mic. With almost all cords, I get no audio in to record with video. It just records the on board iPhone mic. I tried the 1/8" to Lightning connector, a USB to Lightning connector and various TRS to TRRS plug/connectors. I cannot believe this can be so hard to do for recording audio to video or for live-streaming. I appreciate any help with a working solution. Thanks!

Hey there RS77,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We'll be happy to help. It sounds like you want to record audio and video on your iPhone but with a device connected by a cable and potentially an adapter.

You may need to find a compatible adapter. There are some adapters available on Apple's website: Headphones & Speakers - All Accessories - Apple

The following resource details connecting an external mic with your iPhone: Use the Audio Recorder in GarageBand for iPhone - Apple Support

If compatibility doesn't appear to be an issue, let us know if this worked with your iPhone before and if you've changed any settings or updated iOS.

Take care.
