I own an IPhone 15 Pro Max. I want to use line in audio from an external source whilst recording video on the iPhone. I have seen that there are 3.5mm headphone to usb c adapters however having got one of these it is not picking up line in.
is there a specific device I can use to capture an external audio source and have this recorded onto the video I am capturing on the iPhone?

100% untrue. Connect any audio interface through usb c and you can record audio while filming. I did this using a steinberg UR22 without any issue. I’m looking for an alternative right now that is lightweight.

So you are not able to capture a line in audio source to the IPhone 15?
I have previously used an irig2 device for recording to an android device using a 3.5mm headphone jack. I was hoping to add on some sort of 3.5mm to usb c conversion adapter and then plug this into the iPhone to record audio while capturing video. (I want to use it for live streaming)

Sorry no, the only possible audio comes from the microphopne on your iPhone.
If you'd like, you need to change the audio track during that video post-production.
