What has happened here? Now when I move my mouse over to the left side of the screen open programs appear. Also I can now only have one open program on my desktop. If I have Photos open and choose Finder it minimizes Photos instead of overlaying it. I can find no solution. Thanks

does that weirdness survive a Restart?
It was in "Desktop and Dock" and "Stage Manager". It got turned on, certainly not by me. Really aggravating that I spent a couple of hours on this. This stuff happens and you have no idea even what to call it in order to correct it. I was not even able to take a screen shot on the macbook as when I would open that it would close everything else. Had to use my iPhone for the pic. Good grief!
Have you maybe selected to Tile apps and files as opposed to "overlaying"?
