HDMI Adaptor
I’ve only just noticed that the reason I can’t use the apple HDMI Adaptor is because of the new update… is anyone else experiencing this issue and if so is there a fix?
iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

G'day Evanwillis02,
We'd like to get an understanding of what's happening to see how we can help. What behavior are you seeing that makes you believe it was related to an update?
Also, what exactly is happening when you say it doesn't work?
These details will help work out any steps you can try, but as a start, this could help. About Apple Digital AV Adapters for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch:
"If you see video but can't hear audio
Make sure that you're using a Digital AV adapter (which has an HDMI port). If you're using a VGA adapter, it doesn't carry audio signals. To hear audio with a VGA adapter, you need to connect to the headset jack on your TV, monitor, projector, or stereo.
If an app doesn't display video or play audio
The app might not be compatible with your adapter. Check compatibility on the app's info page in the App Store or contact the developer.
If an alert says that an HDCP-compatible device is required
Your content might not be compatible with your adapter. Movies, TV shows, and certain streaming video apps require High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP). If you try to play these movies, shows, and streaming videos using a non-HDCP digital connection—like the Apple VGA Adapter—an alert will ask for an HDCP-compatible device.
If you need help with other issues
If those steps don't clear up the issue, please let us know more about what you're experiencing.
Cheers.
Hi Evanwillis02,
Thanks for following up.
Which app is affected? We recommend testing multiple apps to narrow this down, as this could be something where you'd need to contact the developer.
We also recommend making sure your third-party apps are all updated using this guide: How to manually update apps on your Apple device - Apple Support
Additionally, since you mentioned it appears to be buffering, test from both Wi-Fi and cellular data connections to see if you get the same results both times. The results as well as the answers to the above will help work out the best path.
Cheers.
Hello, it was non of them!
basically I’ll try and play a video it’ll play for 2 seconds and then buffer and then continue to play the same 2 seconds and buffer
the app is definitely compatible as my friend can use the app
it’s only been happening in the last couple of days since I downloaded the recent IOS update!😂
Hey Evanwillis02,
Thanks for keeping us updated. At this point, it's recommended that you connect with Apple directly for additional support regarding this matter. Please use this link to do so: Get Support
Kind regards .
Hello again, I have tried multiple apps and it’s always the same!
but I haven’t tried it using wifi yet which would be a real problem if its to do with mobile data as that’s all I have
