charging Iphone 14 with 20w or 30w charger

Whether you use a 20w or 30w charger will make no difference as the phone regulates the charge. A more powerful charger will provide no benefit whatsoever. But it also won't hurt the phone either, so if you already have a 30w charger, use it. Just don't buy a 30w charger with the hope it will be better, because it won't be better.

Here is a link about fast charging your iPhone from Apple. Just note that more watts than 20w, won't charge your phone any faster. The phone itself limits the charge coming in.

iPhone 14 can take 27 watts so a 30 watt charger is better. I’ve tested it.

You need at least an 18w charger to support Fast Charging if you plug the phone in to charge. I don't know of anyone selling 18w chargers, so yes, you need a 20w charger if you want to fast charge an iPhone. Apple sells 20w chargers itself.

Depending on the model of iPhone 14, the charge controller (U2 ic chip) can regulate up to 27W.

LOL. NO, it won't. You can use a 100w charger and it won't charge any faster as the phone itself regulates the power coming in. Not the other way around.

But you need a 20 watt adapter/wall plug to enable fast charging, am I right?

Anyways, that’s true for my iPhone 12. Strangely enough, I didn’t find anything referring to that in the technical specifications of the iPhone 14.

So, for example, my iPhone 12 draws 7.5 watts except when fast charging, then it draws 20 watts? When does fast charging enable?

And just to avoid any confusion, by “chargers” you do mean the wall adapters that you plug into an outlet…?

But that doesn't mean that the phone charges at a 27 watt rate, now does it? You don't seem to understand that the "charger" is in the phone. The phone regulates the charge rate.

So, what "people" are telling you is not correct.
