charging Iphone 14 with 20w or 30w charger
What does the community recommend 20w or 30w charger?

Whether you use a 20w or 30w charger will make no difference as the phone regulates the charge. A more powerful charger will provide no benefit whatsoever. But it also won't hurt the phone either, so if you already have a 30w charger, use it. Just don't buy a 30w charger with the hope it will be better, because it won't be better.
It’s posted on Apple site. Don’t be lazy and use Google.

I hope you don’t mind my questions!
I looked at my wall plug, and it says: Output 5 volts 2.1 amps. How can I determine the wattage of a wall plug if it doesn’t tell me?
I don't mind your questions at all. I don't know how to tell you how to check the wattage of a wall plug, but I would hazard a guess that's not a 20w charger. All of the 20w chargers I own (I have several for different devices) say they are 20w. If I can recommend one that is reasonably priced and is exceptionally well made, it's the Anker Nano 20w charging plug. Amazon sells then for about $16, so does BestBuy.
Lol! I’ll have to!
I can’t use MagSafe (which is wireless charging, I’m assuming,) unfortunately. For one, I’ve been told wireless charging decreases the Maximum Capacity, so that subconsciously weakens my faith in it 😌, plus I have a piece of metal stuck to the back of my iPhone cover, to use with a magnet when driving.
Come to think of it, I could slip the cover off…
Thank you. I believe you over that other guy…
BTW, thanks for writing the “SAD reality of buying used iPhones” User Tip. It’s very handy!
Ummm, I found a professional looking adapter at home, that says: Travel Adapter, and Adaptive Fast Charging. 🤷♀️ same wattage: 10.5. How can a wall plug “Adapt Fast Charging?”
I guess if you’re not tired of this subject already, I’ll see your answer tomorrow. I’m getting my b’s and d’s confused already. Crazy, going to bed at this hour!
Actually, I just asked Electrician the same question a few weeks ago… His reply was something I hadn’t thought of since high school physics class, “ohms law“
Amps x Volts = Watts
so
2.1 amps x 5 volts = 10.5 watts
So if im understanding correctly then by “charger” you are referring to the little box you plug into the wall and that should be 20w min and higher than that won’t make a difference? Also, I’m wondering about the cord. Is that supposed to have certain specs? (14plus) and finally, does it matter what type or strength or quality the charger or cord is when it comes to long term battery health? And does the length of the cord affect anything? Sorry if I sound dumb but I’ve always wondered about these things
Dollarama power adaptors can not only be under-peforming “wattage-wise” and possibly cause difficult-to-diagnose issues related to their electronic “noise” …
… but they can also be downright electrically dangerous and fire hazards.

Yes, by charger, I mean the wall plug you use. And you don't need to do anything to enable fast charging. If you supply the power, the phone uses it appropriately.
Yes. That’s correct.
yes that would be a 10.5 watt charger.
I have a 20w charger and also a 30w charger. I'm mainly charging on the 20w charger.
Thanks so much! The formulas from science class are coming back now. I wish I had all three, though!
Thank you, I really appreciate you.
No, I would guess (and now we know it’s true) it’s not 20 Watts either; it’s a $3 Dollarama adapter. 😊
You're welcome. Buy yourself a decent charger! I however, moved to MagSafe charging a couple years ago.
I bought the Iphone 14 at Amazon Renewed, and they sent along a 20w and lightning cable.
