Apple watch sharing with family members

I just wanted to post this for others who may run into this same problem as I couldn't find any post dealing with this online and many people dealing with the same problem. Spent about 2h on the phone with Apple Support right now who eventually started indicating that it couldn't be resolved, but managed to find the solution in the end.

Goal: Share Apple watch location via Cellular connection and have it show in the People Tab in Find My.

Problem: AppleID location may be set to use a different device. In the Find My settings on the watch there is no place to change which device is being used to share location like there is in the Find My settings on an iPhone.

Solution: Open the Find People app on the Apple Watch. Click on "Me." In here you can click a button which says use this watch as my device location.

We stepped through a bunch of other troubleshooting steps which I had already tried while trying to resolve this. Unsharing/resharing location. Turning Find My on and off. Etc. Even completely wiping the watch and setting up again from scratch. All of these help with resharing the device location but do not fix it so it shows the device under the people tab on remote devices. I had been looking for this option and for some reason Apple decided to put it in this strange and non-intuitive place on the Apple Watch.
