Can't see location of family member's device (watch)

This used to work fine. Now it isn't. I have powered off and on both devices.


I set up my daughter's Apple Watch with one ID and connected it to Family Share.


On Apple Watch (SE), I have gone to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Location Services & Share My Location are both ON ... and Find Devices/Find People are set to "While Using"


On my iPhone (latest version), all Locations on, in Find My app, I see my daughter's Device "Apple Watch" listed, but says "Not Sharing Location - Online" ... AND her iPad reads the same "Not Sharing Location - Online"


Any other ideas?

Thank you. I validated that everything is still set up correctly on my iPhone, and that the Watch shows is part of my Family Sharing plan.


It worked/findable up until about 2/3 weeks ago. Perhaps FIND MY DEVICE no longer works with the latest iOS Phone Update?


Note: my daughter's iPad shows up/findable using the Life360 App. AND the "Play Sound" function does work.


Any other ideas?

If you are unable to see the location of an Apple Watch that was set up for a family member, first ensure it meets all these necessary requirements from Set up Apple Watch for a family member:

What you need
* An Apple Watch Series 4 or later with cellular,* or Apple Watch SE with cellular, with watchOS 7 or later.
* An iPhone 6s or later with iOS 14 or later for the initial watch setup.
* An Apple ID for yourself and one for the family member who will use the Apple Watch. Your Apple ID needs to have two-factor authentication turned on.
* A Family Sharing group that includes the person who'll use the Apple Watch. You need to have the role of organizer or parent/guardian to set up an Apple Watch for a family member.


Also make sure that you are using this to share locations in your family group: Share locations with family members and locate their lost devices on iPhone

Hello imagaria,


Based on your post you're seeing "Not Sharing Location". That typically points to a setting on your daughters devices. So let's check a few things on her device.


If you open Find My and tap the Me tab, is Share My Location enabled?

If you go to Settings > Privacy & Security, are Location Services enabled? (and is Find My enabled?)
