Cannot open the progressive web application.

I cannot use PWA on mac m1 (tested using chrome, edge, and brave browser).

The behavior is the same as his issue (Apps PWA not working on Chrome or Edge ar… - Apple Community).

I tried updating the os to the latest version, restarting the computer, and uninstalling and installing the browsers. Nothing works.

Could you give me other solution than to format the macbook as I don't want to lose the data on my mac?

Thanks in advance.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 13.4

I suggest you immediately create a data backup if the data is important to you.

Then follow the directions in the post you provided the link to.

Hello Saveng,

PWA issues can be frustrating, but there are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Sometimes, cached data or cookies can cause issues with PWAs. Try clearing the cache and cookies in your browsers.

2. Check PWA Installation: Make sure that the PWA you're trying to use is installed correctly. You can usually do this by going to the website and looking for an option to "Install" or "Add to Home Screen." Reinstall the PWA if necessary.

3. Check Browser Settings: Ensure that your browsers have the PWA features enabled. You can check this in the browser settings. For Chrome, make sure "Desktop PWAs" are allowed in settings.

4. Check Security Software: Sometimes, security software or extensions can interfere with PWAs. Try disabling any browser extensions or security software temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.

5. Browser Updates: Ensure that your browsers are up to date. Outdated browsers can sometimes have compatibility issues with PWAs.

6. Try Another PWA: Test with a different PWA to see if the issue is specific to one app or affecting all PWAs. This can help pinpoint the problem.

7. Guest Account: Create a guest user account on your Mac and see if PWAs work there. This can help determine if the issue is related to your user profile.

8. System Updates: Check if there are any pending system updates for your Mac. Sometimes, updating the macOS can resolve compatibility issues.

9. Browser Flags: In Chrome, you can try enabling experimental flags related to PWAs. Type `chrome://flags/` in the address bar and search for PWA-related flags. Be cautious with these settings, as they can impact browser stability.

10. Contact Support: If none of the above steps work, consider reaching out to the support teams of the browser development company you are using. They may be aware of specific issues or provide additional guidance.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Rohit.
