Can’t unpair apple watch

so my apple watch for some reason reset on its own and has gone back to the default welcome screen but when i open the watch app on my phone it still shows as paired. i then tried to unpair the watch but it is stuck on loading. when i press the info button it just says could not connect to apple watch. i have tried restarting both my phone and the watch but nothing has worked. i even removed the watch from my icloud account but it still won’t unpair on the app. what should i do?

You said you reset the watch but did you restore it to factory default?

i didn't reset the watch - it reset on its own and showed that it was not connected to my phone. i then restored it to factory default and tried to pair again but it won't pair at all since technically it shows as paired on my phone. i still tried add new apple watch and it makes me scan the watch but then nothing happens.
