I previously was able to add music videos to the Music library that isn't from the Apple Store and music videos that I purchased from the Apple Store. For some reason I only have music videos from the Apple Store on my MacBook Pro and iPhone 12. How do I get all my music videos (both non-purchased & purchased) back to the Music library on both my Mac and iPhone?

FYI; I followed Bill_T1 suggestion below plus did the same thing as moonspinner123 and both got me the same result.
The music video file does not show up in my music videos tab or my music videos playlist.

Not working for me. I import the file, no response and the file does not show up in my music videos tab or my music videos playlist.

The process you appear to be describing is mentioned on the Apple Support site Import music from a computer to Music on Mac:
"If you have songs or music video files on your computer, you can import them into Music so they appear in your music library.
If you selected “Copy files to Music Media folder when adding to library” in Files settings, you see File > Import.
2. Locate a file or folder, then click Open.
If you add a folder, all the files it contains are added to your library.
Tip: You can also drag a file or folder from the Finder to the Music window to import it."
Once in your library those items will sync through iCloud or your standard sync with the iPhone the next time you initiate that process.

Do music files need to be stored on Mac (laptop) local drive or icloud drive in order to add music to apple music so that it plays on iphone, ipad, etc? I recently purchased music files (apple lossless audio) and when I added them to my iMac apple music library, the music files do not show up on my iphone apple music.
I need instructions on how to add (purchased and downloaded) music files to Apple music so they play on my iphone.
