Unable to Type Password After Sleep Mode on Mac
Hello Apple Community,
I am currently experiencing an intermittent issue on my Mac which prevents me from typing in my password after the system wakes up from sleep mode. This doesn't happen every time but it has occurred often enough to warrant concern.
Specifically, the issue manifests when I try to enter my password to unlock the Mac. I am able to click on the password field with the mouse, and everything else on the system seems responsive. However, when I press the keys on the keyboard, nothing happens; no characters are inputted into the password field.
Currently, the only solution that seems to work is to hold down the power button for a long time to fully turn off the Mac, then turn it back on again.
Below are some basic details about my Mac for reference:
- Model: MacBook Air M1 2020
- macOS Version: 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a)
- External devices connected: none
I have already tried the following steps to resolve the issue, but to no avail:
- Checking for updates and ensuring the macOS and all applications are up-to-date.
- Restarting the Mac.
- Checking the keyboard settings and accessibility settings to ensure they're correctly set up.
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If more information is required, please do let me know.
Thank you,
Kamil
