Apple tv not updating watched status

Hello,


For a while now Apple TV HD with all the updates simply does not update the watched status of my TV shows on a local library that is on a MAcmini M1 with external storage.

Everything works fine, I watch an episode I see it s marked as watched on Apple TV, few days later I wish to watch it further I discover that what I have already watched is not marked as watched and I have to manually update the library. Any idea why this happens? this issue has always been an issue with Apple TV with me sometimes it works but most of the time not.


Does anyone have an idea?

There are a few basic troubleshooting steps you can use to try and resolve the issue. To get started, we recommend restarting all of your devices. You can learn how to restart your Apple TV and Mac here: Restart Apple TV - Apple Support & Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support


To make sure that your content and watch history syncs between your devices, you'll need to make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID on each device. You can learn how to do that here: Set up your Apple ID on Apple TV - Apple Support & Use your Apple ID to sign in to the Apple TV app on Mac - Apple Support


You should also make sure that all of your devices are up to date. You can learn how to update your Apple TV and Mac here: Update your Apple TV - Apple Support & Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support


If the issue continues after following all of those steps, we recommend reaching out to Apple Support for more help: Get Support
