image attachments on iMessages

This question is about image attachments on iMessage. I purchased an iPhone 14 recently. I transferred the data and text messages from by former phone, a Google Pixel 5. I don’t remember the exact name of the application I had used transfer the the data and text message, but I can find it on my Pixel if anybody here would like the info.

The results appeared to be alright. All of the text messages and their image attachments transferred to the iPhone 14. However, a few days later I found that the images had disappeared from my iPhone iMessages. Can anybody tell me what happened to the image attachments on these text messages? Could this be because there is something in the iPhone Settings that excluded the image attachments on the iPhone? I have searched the Settings on the iPhone for attachment images options without finding anything. Regards, Don

This is screenshot of image file attachment on the iMessage. It shows a file icon with a question mark, an alpha-numeric identification of the file, and the file type its number of kb-mb. It also shows a download icon (a rectangle with downward arrow within it).

What I am thinking,  an Apple person familiar with file management, seeing the information on the attachment file could identify the problem, especially the download icon.

My account with Apple has 200 GB of iCloud storage. This isn’t an extravagant amount of storage, but enough to  cover the iPads and iPhone, at this time. The iPad Pro has its own 2TG storage.

All of the screenshots here are of my iPhone iMessage (iPhone text app) as I found them in Settings, iMessage. I don’t see any settings here that would exclude the attachments on text messages or prevent the backup of the attachment images.

I have discovered in the past few days, that my iPad Pro has iMessage, the same app that is used for text messaging on my iPhone. Could this be the problem? As I mentioned earlier, the text messages and their attachment images from the my former cellphone Pixel 5 had transferred over very well. Then, three or four days later, the images turned into blank file, as shown above. Could the iMessage on the iPad be causing the problem? Perhaps there was some conflict in the system, trying to synchronise the messaging of another device to the iPhone.

As I asked above, Can anybody tell me what happened to the image attachments on these text messages? Could this be because the same application as the application of my Texting - iMessage - is on my iPad Pro, and probably synchronized or backup when I had it started a few days later? I remember the Apple store contacted me through that application about that time.

The other possibility is there something in the iPhone Settings that could have excluded the image attachments on the iPhone? (screenshots above).

There is plenty of storage, both in iCloud and on the devices. (The iCloud causing the problem?)

I have the same problem with 15 pro max. Have been talking to the apple since the week I've bought this phone. Few times the phone was resetted and all data was transferred from my android to iPhone. Like yours, majority of the the photos videos and gifs started disappearing. They don't know why, still telling me reset and move to iOS one more, sending them the screenshots etc. In short, no solution yet. How about you?
