Hi all, I have a 2019 iMac running Ventura 13.3.1, and Mail Version 16.0 (3731.500.231). Since updating to Ventura I do not get any sounds when sending or receiving mail.
I have new mail sound set in Mail settings and "Play sound for other mail actions" is also ticked
I have restarted several times. I have also checked that my speaker is working and I get sounds for other apps but still no sounds for mail.
Can anyone suggest a solution pleas

So as to keep people from having to read and search through long answers, first check if when you send your mail you have a Focus on (in Control Center) that turns off sounds. Adjust your Focus states if you always want the swoosh sound no matter the Focus state.

I had the same problem (Mail 16.1, Sonoma 14.3.1). Turns out I had somehow selected 'Do not disturb' (in the 'Focus' setting) in the upper right menu bar. Toggling it off brought the whoosh back. Whew.
Lost whoosh sound on sending email with Ventura.
Actually, I don't think you can adjust it for the Focus states...would make for a feedback suggestion.
