I cannot hear a phone call on my hearing aids with my watch

I have a new apple watch series 7, I have connected my hearing aids to the watch and can turn volume up and down. What I can not do is like with my phone I can hear the conversation through the hearing aids, I cannot when I answer on the watch. I hope I am making sence of what I am trying to do. I have philips hearing aids that connect through accesibility on my phone not blue tooth

seems hearing aids can only be connected to one device at a time, yet can switch between devices..

you can scroll to:  "Use your hearing devices with more than one device"
