Apple watch gives notifications while in sleep focus

I have a model 8 watch my wife has a 7 both of us get random notifications in the middle of the night. Our focus is set properly have been through the instructions put here earlier this spring. We both will get "time to stand" or sometimes text notifications in the middle of the night we get them at different times. This seemed to start in Jan 2023. We get this simple "ping" which wakes us up and when we look to see what the watch say it's something like "Time to stand" ! or a random text from some business. this happens anytime from 10pm to 7am. We both have the same settings with sleep setting and notifications turned off from 10pm until 8am 7 days a week. We only have the one setting so it's not that. I do not believe Apple doesn't know about this since so many people have complained.

Apple Watch Series 8, watchOS 9

Hey BlackRussianterrier,

If you are still getting notifications from Messages while Sleep Focus is enabled, it may be because you do not have any people silenced in the Focus settings. The Messages app will usually use this setting as a priority over the 'Allowed Apps' section.

Let's try selecting 'People' option and then make sure 'Allow Notifications From' is checked at the top. You can then add contacts that you wish to allow to notify you while Sleep Focus is enabled or leave the 'Add People' section empty so no notifications from anyone will come through while Sleep Focus in on. For more info on this, check out this user guide: Set up a schedule for a Sleep Focus in Health on iPhone

Also, let's make sure that all your settings are set up the way you want them by following the steps from this article here: Set up a Focus on iPhone

Let us know if this helps!

Best regards.
