Low quality videos received via imessage

Why do I receive low quality videos from other iPhones? I have an iPhone 13 pro. I have checked that low quality image mode is turned off in settings/messages. I have over 100gb of storage unused.

I received the following message with the video: “media object(s) were degraded to adapt to your devices capabilities.”

Low Quality Pics in iMessages When sending photos through iMessages, the photos are received in lower quality. Both phones have "Low Quality Image Mode" turned off. Both phones are connected to the same wifi with speeds over 100 mbs. Both phones are iPhone 14 Pro Max's using the latest iOS 16. Any ideas?

iPhone sending videos small and pixelated to other iPhones My iPhone has recently started sending videos to other iPhones in tiny resolution that can’t be enlarged on their phone. I don’t have low quality image mode turned on. I do have send as SMS enabled when iMessage is unavailable, but I have always sent the videos when I have service or Wi-Fi and my texts are sending blue. I have MMS messaging and group messaging enabled and I believe these are default. I can’t remember the length the videos were that I sent. Could larger files be compressed so much that they’re unwatchable? I have software 15.6.1 iPhone XR

If low image quality toggle in messages is off, just do a hard reset. Quickly press volume up, volume down, then hold the power button until you see the apple logo. The screen will go black first but keep holding until you see the apple logo. This is usually the fix for all software anomalies.
