I bought the new M2 Mac..Whats app keeps crashing in this one. I had the Old Mac Book Whats app never crashed in that. FYI.. I had not done any special setting to the app then & neither I did anything now.

Have an M1 pro.
Was really happy with the whatsapp update few weeks back. All worked till then.
Now it just keeps crashing !

WORKAROUND / FIX
I got a workaround which worked for me. As soon as you start whatspp, login using some other number, let it load. Then click settings->log out. And then retry from your primary number. IT WORKED FOR ME 😀
Nothing under the sun that I have not tried.
Recent update of OS and Whatsapp too have not resolved this.
Learning to live without whatsapp on my mac (Sad but True) till better winds prevail.
Please do what others in the thread have suggested. It resolved this issue on my Mac(M1-Sonoma). On the desktop app log in with someone else's account. And then Logout. Then try and login with your account. This worked for me and this time the app did not crash. Everything else I tried had failed.

I suppose Universal and Apple silicon native applications should not crash, Intel native applications with rosetta2 sometimes would crash, though.
Assuming you've already tried restarting your MacBook Air, the only suggestion that comes to mind would be to delete the app and redownload it and reinstall it to see if that resolves the issue.
Yes, this works but only for a few days.. then abruptly it will crash again.
I've irritated my wife asking for her phone to do this every few days now :(
Hoping there will be a permanent fix.
