updated the other day to 16.4.1, having issues with Apple Music

ever since i manually updated to 16.4.1, apple music has had trouble when i connect to bluetooth devices. so for i have tried my airpods (first gen) and a sony bluetooth speaker; both have had connectivity problems. literally right after i updated i was using my airpods and it was the third song or something where apple music just paused the song and wouldn’t let me unpause. i had to go back to the previous song and then play that song to get it to work. this wouldn’t be that big of an issue if my little trick worked every time. however, 20 minutes later, the music paused again, and this time i had to completely close and restart the apple music app multiple times to get it to resume playing. and just now as well it paused and wouldn’t let me continue, even though i turned bluetooth off and back on, even though it’s been fine between the first incident and now (like two days or something). apple music also will turn the volume way, way down, so low that i though it wasn’t playing and all i could hear was static. i turned the volume up, and it did get louder, but i could still barely hear it. and with the sony speaker, it was the same thing, though i kind of gave up listening to music at that point. i also have watched youtube with my airpods with no issues. i know it’s not the airpods because they don’t do this with apple music on my macbook (though i’m curious if i updated my macbook, providing an update was avaliable, if music would start being dumb as well). help!! what did i break!

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities kaelyn127,

The following guidance that covers Bluetooth accessories used with iPhone may be helpful:

* If you previously connected your Bluetooth accessory to your iOS or iPadOS device, unpair the accessory, put it back in discovery mode, then try to pair and connect it again.
* If you can pair your accessory with some devices but not your iOS or iPadOS device, unpair the accessory from your other devices. Then try to pair with your iOS or iPadOS device again.
* To find out whether your accessory is compatible with your iOS or iPad OS device, contact the manufacturer of the accessory.
* If you still have any of these issues, contact Apple Support:
* You can’t turn on Bluetooth or the setting is grayed out.
* You can’t connect any Bluetooth accessories with your device.
* The accessory manufacturer confirmed that your accessory is working correctly.

If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone or iPad

We hope this helps!
