Confirm iPhone Passcode

Why does my iPhone 12, IOS 16.4.1, need me to Confirm iPhone Passcode at least once per week? My wife has the same phone and doesn’t require it

Thanks for reaching out to the community. Are you referring to the passcode to unlock your iPhone or your password for your Apple ID? Have you used multiple Apple ID's on your iPhone? Are you signed into the App Store and other Apple services with your current Apple ID? If not, be sure to follow the article below for signing in.


  1. "Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Sign in to your [device].

On iPhone, sign in to your Apple ID in the Settings app

3.Enter your Apple ID and password.

4.If prompted, enter the six-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number and complete sign in".

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.


This is a built-in security feature. To address the behavior, make sure your have a valid payment method on file. If you recently changed your Apple ID or password. Make sure that you have signed out on your iPhone and signed back in with the new login credentials.


Also, check in Settings > VPN & Device Management for a configuration profile. Depending on the parameters, it can affect the settings on iPhone.
