Photos not indexing after update

I just updated my iphone 8 to iOS 16.4.1, the latest one available, and since then the search bar in the photos app is not functioning properly at all.. for example, i have hundreds of photos of a certain person, which would show before the update, but when I search the same now, the indexing shows very few of them, though all the photos are present in my gallery..

what can i do to fix this? i really need the search feature to work properly on my phone

Troubleshooting Photo Indexing:

A. Export, then Search:

Export*** everything to an external Hard Drive. From there, open a new Finder window, search the Hard Drive using the search bar (magnifying glass) on the top-right corner of the window.

B. Report this to Apple:

Do your part: Let Apple know what is going on here. Provide them with feedback on this. They may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they received on this, the more they will know what is going on, and what needs to be fixed in updates to come.

Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
Comment: that this all began after installing and update, and how you have troubleshot it this far. Include the URL of this thread.
Proceed from there aw necessary
