I cant search on photos anymore IOS 18

Ever since I’ve downloaded IOS 18, I haven’t been able to search through photos like I used to. For example, searching my name in the photos add on in messages used to pop me up and allow me to scroll through. Now it simply says that there are no photos available. I’ve tried typing in different words to refine my search but only the only ones available in search are ones taking post-update. I don’t know if this is a sync issue or if I have to run my photos through something but this makes searching for photos very annoying.
