Export from 96kHz to 48kHz?

Hi everyone.

Could someone please help me - I have a 96kHz Project File containing a single track (96kHz sound file).

Channel strip setting = mono

Stereo out setting = mono

I can export to a 96kHz mono file perfectly.

I would now also like a 48kHz mono version, however - it seems impossible to export that same 96kHz project file to a 48kHz version.

These are my different attempts, and the results:

BOUNCING:

  1. When I bounce the 96kHz project file to 48kHz, it results in a 48kHz file, but stereo, not mono.
  2. When I change the 96kHz project file to 48kHz, and then bounce, I get the same result - a 48kHz file, but stereo, not mono.

EXPORTING:

  1. When I export the 96kHz project file, there is no option to change the sample rate to 48kHz, and results in a mono file, but 96kHz.
  2. When I change the project file from 96kHz to 48kHz, and then export, I get a 48kHz file, and stereo (yippee), but, the duration of the file is doubled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please Note. (the "include volume / pan information" checkbox is disabled).

How on earth do I get a 48kHz file AND mono AND the correct duration??????????

Could someone please tell me the exact steps required?

Any help is appreciated, as my head now hurts :)

Thank you.

Take the bounced 96 khz audio file,

Got to Window > Open Project Audio,

select the file in the Project Audio Window,

then Audio File > Copy Convert File(s) and set it to Sample Rate 48 khz
