Freeform: Why is the first character on each line underlined?

I'm just trying out Freeform, what is this crazy behavior?

Red underlining in Freeform Hey! I'm trying to get rid of the red underlining in Freeform. I turned off all auto spelling settings, but the red underlining is still there.

How can I make Freeform stop capitalising words? In theory there are options in Freeform to make it check spelling, or not do that, and to autocorrect it. However, I just cannot make it stop capitalising first letters. Even when it offers me the option to undo it, as shown below, often it sneakily redoes it later. Although I would love a Miro look alike that works offline, which this seems to be, this behaviour getting to be a deal breaker for me. Can I make it stop? tx

Freeform keeps crashing on iPadOS 17.0.3. Hello, I use my M1 iPad Air for my math homework. I'll do my homework/quizzes in Safari and solve the questions using Freeform in split view. While I was doing work last night Freeform crashed to the home menu, taking Safari down with it. Fortunately I did not lose any work but this has happened multiple times so I'd like to hopefully try and solve it. This isn't the first time this has happened either; it crashed multiple times on iPadOS 16 as well. If you need anything from me to get to the bottom of this I'll do my best. I spotted a log relating to Freeform in analytics if that helps. Cheers!
