About the Japanese audio of Laputa: Castle in the Sky (Studio Ghibli)

Castle in the Sky (Studio Ghibli) from Apple TV App.

I would like to see it in the original Japanese audio.

I checked the "Language > Audio" field and confirmed that it says "Japanese(ACC),English(Dolby 5.1, ACC)".

However, the original Japanese audio cannot be selected when purchased.

When I checked the "Language > Audio" field again, the "Japanese (ACC)" has been removed and only "English (Dolby 5.1,ACC)" is listed.

Where can I see that there is Japanese audio?

(Isn't it a scam to change the description of a product before and after purchase?)

I contacted support regarding this issue and was told that the problem could not be confirmed and that refunds could not be issued.

iPhone 7, iOS 15

What is the country or country-like region for your Apple ID account? That determines to which Store region with country-specific catalog you have access to. The same content in other regions may have other audio streams.

For the US, Castle in the sky is (confusingly) available as two separate Store items,

  1. one to buy or rent (English audio, +bonus content* on Apple devices [including JA version (2)]),
  2. and one to rent only (Japanese audio, subtitled in English).

* iTunes Extras aren't available in the Apple TV app on smart TVs and third party streaming devices. (I think AirPlay would be supported to AirPlay-enabled devices, though.)

Thanks for the reply.

My Apple account is US.

The rental version of Castle in the sky does not allow me to select Japanese audio.

I have purchased My Neighbor Totoro (iTunes Extras), which is a different software, but the Japanese audio is not selectable either.

In other words, I think the notation is wrong.

(The notation changes before and after the purchase!)

I wonder if this is still eligible for a refund...
