Apple TV Movies no original audio

Hello,

when I rent movies on my AppleTV, sometimes the only available adio option is German (i live in germany). My AppleTV is set to english and i watch everything in original audio. Most of the times, many audio languages are available, but with old rental movies (90s 00s) often the only are in german. I is also very(!) confusing, that the info-page of the movie says „original audio: english“ for exampe, even though i the end it is only german. Is it maybe some stupid copyright related issue? I find in 2024 there should absolutely be no(!) reason for not showing a rental movie in the original language. Please, can soneone explain, or even better: fix it?

The movie i rented recently was „Wonder Boys“.

The line for Original Audio is a bit misleading, as it doesn’t say what is available in the stream, just what it was originally. When that language isn’t also included in Audio Languages, then it just means that it was dubbed for your region.

That is the decision of the supplying studio (Paramount Pictures here). Nothing that Apple can do about this.

I recently purchased a movie on the new Apple TV app for 16 EUR. The movie was advertised as being available in English, but I discovered that it is only available in German, even though it is not a German movie. This is very frustrating. Why do you have to mislead your customers? No one wants to watch movies in in German they did not choose. I am extremely annoyed now.

I also find this very irritating. I wish there was a way to switch to the original audio.
