Want Key Repeat Behavior on iPad same as in Mac

When I long press any key on my keyboard on the Mac, it repeats the key - For example... pppppppppppooooooooo. But when I do this on my iPad with Logi Combo Touch, long pressing opens the accents submenu. How can I make it exactly as the Mac on my iPad instead of opening the accents submenu? Can someone please help me?

Your claim that the key repeat action in macOS changed to show the Accent Menu 10 years ago may be true if you have a keyboard/OS version for an area of the world where accents are commonly used, but my North American keyboard/OS does not show the Accent Menu when I long press a key. (I would be annoyed if it did.)

On the other hand, having the accent Menu appear in iPadOS is an excellent feature — but like all features, excellent or otherwise, it should be possible for the user to select the preferred behaviour.

Key repeat was replaced by the Accent Menu 10 years ago in MacOS, but you can get it back via terminal commands there. It's not possible in iOS as far as I know. You can ask Apple to add this feature via

It has been that way everywhere since MacOS 10.7 Lion. Lots of people were in fact very annoyed and a fix was soon found. It is really odd that your system did not not have it. These days the Accent Menu sometimes randomly disappears and people get very annoyed and want it back, so that we have to post fixes for that problem.

I agree, let them know via feedback
