Search bar doesn't find anything in any folder - Monterey on a newly purchased MacBook Pro M1

How can that be ? I pay thousands of euros to get a near high end laptop and the most basic function doesn't work. I searched for the solutions - doing the spotlight and privacy "trick". But whenever I try to drag anything in it says (in German) "The object couldn't either be added nor removed due to an unknown error"

Please help !
