Finder not locating files after re-indexing everything
I have had this MacBook for several months now, and it is driving me absolutely insane.
Whether it is a file that I just finished up, and need to attach to an email, or an old file that I am trying to dig up, half of the time, Finder or Spotlight cannot locate the file on my computer. Sometimes I can open finder and type in a term, and get results. Other times, I can open up Finder, type in the same exact term, and get absolutely no results.
The only solution in these times is to scroll through thousands of files and try to find it, taking up a ton of time and driving me towards a mental cliff.
I have attempted simple things, like restarting the computer and making sure the apps are all up to date. I have also done the most common solution, and re-indexing everything by adding and subtracting files and drives from the spotlight privacy area.
None of this seems to solve the problem.
Please help, before I go insane.
I am currently running MacOS Monterey 12.5.1 with a M1 Pro chip.
