Text Contrast in Mailboxes sidebar in Mail on Monterey

Hi. I just upgraded my mom's 2015 Macbook Pro to the latest version of Monterey. The mailbox sidebar text is way too grey and almost blends in with the background. The older mail had nice black text that had much better contrast. Is there a way to fix this? Or is there a third-party plugin that might help? It's ok for me, but it's harder for her to read.
