I have the same problem when I import mini DV tapes from my camcorder sometimes I get 100's of small file sizes .01-.04.
It is only happening on part of the tape and I don't know why.
Just wondering is there another video editing programme that someone can recommend that I can record this faulty part and join up in IMovie later.
Try importing as a New Movie Recording into the QuickTimePlayer app already on your Mac. Unlike iMovie, QuickTimePlayer does not recognize scene breaks. So you should get one long clip without breaks.
