Adding .ics calendar invitation attachment to email

Is it possible to add an .ics calendar invite attachment to my Apple Mail email?

When I get such emails from others, it is easy to add the event to my Apple calendar. However, if I create an event in iCal and send invitations from there, it rarely works, likely because many use google or outlook calendars. I would prefer to send the invitation from within my email anyway for simplicity.

Hey virtualshar,

Try Control + clicking the Calendar event. You should have an option to "Email Event". This will open a new message in Mail with the .ics event as an attachment.

Let us know if this is what you were looking to accomplish.

Cheers!

The article didn't answer my question. I want to include a calendar .ics of an event as an attachment to an email. I do not want to add anybody to the invitation list within the event but to have that person be able to add my event to their calendar as their own event. (just like one can do from outlook by attaching an .ics calendar of the event to an email).

I hope that clarifies my question. Maybe Apple hasn't made this possible. It is a big miss. People do this all the time from Google calendar and Outlook calendar, neither of which I use. I'm sure many users have the same issue.
