IOS 16.4 voice isolation with bluetooth devices?

Anyone know if the feature works on a call over bluetooth? I'll experiment but thought I'd ask.

I wear hearing aids that connect to my phone and allow me to have a conversation through them. The voice isolation option isn't available when I'm connected to the hearing aids but appears if I switch to the phone. I read that once turned on, it stays on for future calls until you turn it off so I'm hoping the feature works with any connection even though the option doesn't appear. This would be similar to a hands free phone call through your bluetooth in your car where voice isolation would also be particularly useful.
