Universal connection is unreliable

I am using Macbook pro-M1 Max as the main computer and an M1 mac mini.

Mostly I docked my Macbook pro in closed-shell mode using an external keyboard and trackpad to work.

Universal control doesn't always work, mostly doesn't work. I even go to the Display setting and want to manually connect to mac mini, but it only shows the sidecar option.

Does anyone have a solution, I am frustrated. I even buy Synergy, but it's buggy as well.

Hi there joeleeapple,

If you are having issues using Universal Control with your MacBook Pro and your Mac mini, these steps from Universal Control: Use a single keyboard and mouse between Mac and iPad can resolve this issue:

If you need help
When arranging your displays, if you don't see a display, try these solutions:
* If using macOS Ventura or later, click the add button (+) in the upper-right corner of the Displays settings window, then choose your iPad or other Mac from the menu.
* If using macOS Monterey, click the Add Display button the lower-left corner of the Displays preferences window, then choose your iPad or other Mac from the menu.
* Make sure that each device meets the Universal Control system requirements and is using the latest software updates for Mac and software updates for iPad.
* Make sure that your devices are near each other—ideally within 1 meter (3 feet).
* Put your devices to sleep, then wake them up.
* Turn off Universal Control on each device, then restart each device and turn Universal Control back on.

If this continues after looking over that, test to see if this persists when each device is connected to another network. That will help us isolate if the network connection is responsible for this behavior.

Cheers!
