Apple Maps iPhone and Mac Apple Maps not syncing

I do not see Apple Maps as an App in my iCloud. Does that mean it is an exception to the iCloud Apps that DO sync across devices?

I would like to sync my iPhone Maps app Favorites and my MacBook Pro Map app Favorites in some way.

iPhone 8, iOS 16

I have those settings on my iPhone, but still not making connection to share the Favorites etc.

I do not see Maps in same area on my MAC, and cannot figure out how to get there if needed. Could that be the problem?

Hi Al_Chance,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

You can sync Maps data using iCloud. On iPhone go to Settings > your name> iCloud. You may have to select Show All and make sure that the button is on for Maps. If you're signed in with the same Apple ID on both devices, the content from iPhone will sync to content on your Mac and your Favorites will be viewable.

 Maps - Apple

Hi Al_Chance,

Did you follow the steps in our previous message to make sure you're signed into your iCloud account within the Maps app on your Mac?

If so, we suggest testing to see if the issue persists in safe mode. This will help to isolate the issue further. You can find steps for booting into safe mode here: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support
