Is anybody actually synching their MAPS favorites on a MAC to their iPhone, or vice versa? If so, can you tell me what are the Settings on the MAC. Please dont respond with theory. I only want actual real life experience.

I understand that iCloud Drive is for documents, I just mentioned it because other users had reported it worked for them. Also it does give you the option to turn on/off Maps in the "Apps syncing to iCloud Drive" section, even though Maps doesn't save documents.

It is worth uninstalling Sophos just to see if it solves the problem. Internet and syncing activity is done through ports on your internet connection. Mail is on port 25, Internet on port 80, Push Notifications on 2195, and so on. Antivirus can block some of these ports while it is monitoring the outgoing and incoming network data.
Did you check the iCloud Drive setting at > System Settings > your name > iCloud > iCloud Drive?
Not sure if it will help, but worth a shot.
Making sure the Sync this Mac is on and when clicking on "Apps syncing to iCloud Drive", making sure Maps is on.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > ["your name"] > iCloud and make sure you have Maps enabled.
On your Mac, go to the Apple logo > System Preferences > iCloud and make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID as your iPhone.
Check Maps > Account in Maps it should reflect your Apple ID in iCloud.
You are using the App successfully on both devices with those settings?
Reason ask: I just spent 2 hours with an Apple Senior Advisor who was viewing both device screens simultaneously, and SHE could not get it to work.
What MAC and OS version do you use? What iPhone and iOS version are you using?
Are your FAVORITES synching between devices?
I have the same settings as muguy and have no problem with Maps on my MacBook Pro (2019) using Ventura 13.3 syncing with my iPhone X using iOS 16.4. The Favorites as well as Recent location are both synced. I can search a location on the Mac and then go to my phone and view it from there. It also works in reverse.
I use Mail, Messages, Calendar & Contacts seamlessly between my devices.
I use Sophos anti-virus protection, but why would it not block the other Apps too?
I have noticed that my iPad is synching Maps with iPhone, but not my MacBook Pro.
Yes. Favorites sync as they have for years.

Apple Advisor and me have done all that, even logging out and back in to iCloud with no success.

That doesn't sound right. Do you have other apps like Notes that sync correctly?
Any antivirus, VPN, or Little Snitch that could be blocking the syncing action?
If we are talking about iCloud settings- Yes.
iDrive (I understand, and confirmed by Apple Advisor) is for documents. I have that turned OFF, as I do not want or need my docs shared between devices.
