Why can't I set Apple Watch to unlock iMac? Suddenly, it just quit working. Read a way to get it working again by deleting entries in Keychain, but that left me with the inability to even toggle on the Unlock feature on the Mac.
Solved the problem with a call to Apple Support. Tried a bunch of stuff that Id previously tried and nothing worked. Finally resorted to erasing and resetting Apple Watch. That worked and really wasn't that much trouble. Took about 20 minutes.
Thanks but this didn't work. I had previously tried to fix this with something I read online about deleting entries in Keychain Access. Now when I try to set up use Apple Watch to unlock iMac, it won't let me even toggle the setting. Just spins and comes back to unset mode. May be time to call Apple Support.
Same as Charles above. Erasing and resetting Watch did it. It was strange because my M1 mini knew the watch was near but it just never would unlock the Mac. It would say it was going to unlock with Apple Watch but didn't. If I didn't have the watch on it wouldn't say anything about the watch...so cranium firmly up it's rectum syndrome for this function.

In effect, it means to un-pair, and re-pair, the Watch.
Update all, and reboot all, and try again.
