Automatically Change Guitar Preset While Playing/Recording

When learning songs on guitar I like to bring them into GB so I can chop up the sections and hone in on them.

I have some really nice guitar tones set up in Amplitube but have no easy way to switch between them while playing.

Is there a way to set my guitar track so the tone/preset changes automatically at the right points in the song?

e.g. clean intro, distorted verses, lead tone for solos etc.

I have the presets I like, I just cannot work out how to have the guitar sound change while I'm playing.

I tried adding a guitar track for each preset and then using automation to automatically reduce/increase the volume based on the preset required in each section, but this only works for the single track selected, meaning it does not change between tracks while playing to achieve the desired preset.

Is there a way to achieve this please?

I don't know if you can automate a preset change, but you can look at automation curves:
