'Include Audio Tail' on exported tracks not working?

To show the problem, I created 4 bars of a sw instrument with lots of reverb (on trk 1)

Track 2

this is the result of exporting trk 1 with

'Trim silence at file end'

OFF 'include audio tail'

Clearly track 2 includes the audio tail due to the end of project marker way out at bar 7.

But I expected the same wave file output doing it this way:

Track 3

this is the result of exporting trk 1 with

'Export cycle range only'

ON 'include audio tail'

However, trk 3 cuts off the audio tail?

Is this a bug or am I misunderstanding how audio tail should work in this case?

Thanks for any help!

It seems setting the length manually is the only viable way for now, so I tend to agree with you.

But since the 'include audio tail' option is there, it seems like it should work the way I showed above. 🤔

Though, I noticed in a 2 year old youtube video that 'include audio tail' didn't used to be an option when exporting.

One caveat though: When it works, 'include audio tail' - can be super helpful.

Because some instruments can really surprise you in how long they decay...

(I bounced one song 'with tail' to itunes and thought something was set wrong due to 10 secs of silence at the end of the song - but darned if there wasn't one cymbal in the drum kit - super quiet - that was ringing out)
